The Kingfisher

The Kingfisher Safari Lodge is styled in a victorian cottage theme and sleeps 4-6 guests, with 1 double bed and 2 single beds. In addition we can add up to 2 single fold away beds if required.

Up to two well behaved dogs are permitted to stay in this lodge, please contact us directly if you wish to book your dog/s in.

The Lounge

Each lounge has a wood burner to cosy up in front of, with a bucket full of kindling, a pack of fire lighters and a complimentary sack of hard wood logs for each night of your stay (extra sacks can be purchased and will be delivered direct to your lodge).

There are leather sofas big enough for everyone to get on, cushions and throws, rugs, coffee table, rechargeable lamps, awning lights as well as a small chest containing books, games and playing cards.

The Kitchen

We have tried to think of everything you might need for a self catering holiday, which is why you will find in your kitchen a wealth of furniture and appliances to make it as homely as possible. A welsh dresser containing enamel crockery, glasses, condiments, cutlery, saucepans, cookware plus foil, cling film, hand soap, washing up liquid, tea towels etc. are all included in your stay.

A sturdy table and chairs greet you where you can enjoy the tasty meals you have prepared or relax and play games with the family. It’s here that you’ll also find a welcome pack of tea, coffee, hot chocolate, sugar, pint of fresh milk, homemade cake and marshmallows for toasting over the camp fire.

The kitchen sink has mains cold water. For safety reasons your gas powered cooker and your 60L gas powered fridge is located on the covered veranda of your lodge  so you can cook your food whilst watching the wildlife all around you.

The Bedrooms

Each one of the fully sized beds has a quality memory foam mattress, toasty warm duvet, quality 100% cotton linen, a warm bed throw and a set of thick fluffy towels as well as sturdy bedside tables.

The Bathroom

Each lodge has it’s own private bathroom next to it, so there’s no need to dash across the field when nature calls!

Inside you will find a fully flushing toilet, toilet roll, hand sink with mains cold water, hand soap, mirror, gas powered shower with plenty of instant hot water and a shower mat.

Covered Veranda

Each safari tent has a 2.5m veranda where you can sit, relax and watch nature in action from!

Here you will find foldaway chairs, a small table to rest your drinks on, tea lights, outside game items, a butchers block, a gas powered cooker for when you need to cook in a hurry, a 60L gas powered fridge, BBQ utensils, a starter amount of charcoal for the BBQ and a quick charcoal lighter.

Outside Your Lodge

A little bit of ‘me time’ is provided in the form of a large, private wood fired hot tub, the  perfect place to unwind with a glass of bubbly, immersed in relaxing warm water.

Watch the sun set behind the trees then gaze up into the clear night sky to look at the stars and moon – magical.

The hot tub is available as an extra and does not have to be booked if not required.

Chickens! We are sure you will love watching and feeding your own chickens for the length of your stay, and better still, collecting freshly laid eggs from them! Your chickens will be in a run near your tent. Don’t worry if you would prefer not to tend to them as they will have a supply of food and water already in their run.

There’s a spacious camp fire area in front of your safari tent with wooden seating so everyone can gather round and enjoy the relaxing flicker of the camp fire flames. We also provide a BBQ and a wood fired pizza oven for cooking your own stone baked pizzas.

In addition, there’s a picnic bench with covered ashtray and tea lights. New for 2019 will be a hammock for that much needed chill out time!
